Nicknamed the \u003cem\u003eKing of Bohemia\u003c\/em\u003e, he inspired painters (Picasso, Steinlen, Villon), poets (Verlaine, Jehan Rictus, Léo Farguier) and musicians alike, appearing in Brassens's repertoire. First christened \u003cem\u003eLarbi-la-Purée\u003c\/em\u003e by Verlaine, then quickly reduced to \u003cem\u003eBibi\u003c\/em\u003e, he inspired two films of the same name: the silent film \u003cem\u003eBibi-la-Purée\u003c\/em\u003e (Maurice Champreux, 1925), then Léon Joannon's talkie (1935).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eHe is also immortalised in Paul Fort's verses in \u003cem\u003eL'enterrement de Verlaine\u003c\/em\u003e :\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\"\u003cem data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eN'importe !
