Antiquity

Antiquity has always held a special place in the antiquarian book trade: first editions, editiones principes, reprints of Greek and Latin authors, translations accompanied by the original text, philological commentaries, and plates of natural history or archaeology carrying on the scholarly tradition of the eighteenth century. Here the collector will find the great texts that have shaped the human mind for millennia, the quality of the established text, the fidelity of the translation, the beauty of the printing and, often, the sheer scale of the editorial undertaking that brought these works back to life in a new language and a new format.
