Love

The universal theme par excellence, taking here its most immediate and intimate form: the autograph letter. The collection assembled here belongs almost exclusively to this private correspondence, in which one observes writing dashed off in haste, the crossings-out, the doubts and the turns of phrase that escape any literary pose. This corpus falls within the sub-theme of love letters, which alone constitutes an entire branch of the autograph discipline.
