Architecture

Architecture often appears in books in the form of collections of engraved plates, treatises on perspective, or ornamental pattern books intended for practitioners and amateurs alike. Bibliophilic interest then lies in the quality of the engraving, the condition of the plates, and the rarity of the printing. One thus enters into the great history of architectural craftsmanship — of a country, a building, a region, a civilisation.
