First World War

In the antiquarian book trade, the First World War is read through the correspondence of French soldiers, notebooks and diaries kept at the front, first editions by combatant writers, as well as photographs and staff-headquarters documents. The interest lies as much in the testimonial value of the text as in the rarity of its medium, often unique, having survived the hazards of war.
