Full red morocco, interlacing of three bands of four gilt fillets forming arabesques on the covers, raised bands with the same decoration as the covers, author, title, place of publication and date in gilt, gilt edges, double gilt fillet to board edges, double and triple gilt fillet border to the turn-ins, slipcase (E. & A. Maylander).

Illustrated edition, on large paper.
The work comprises a total of 276 original compositions by Steinlen, engraved by Ducourtioux, of which 252 for the first and 24 for the second work.

La Chanson des Gueux was printed in 340 copies, of which 20 presentation copies — here no. XIV for Marc Poirson, signed by Pelletan.
The second work, Dernières chansons de mon Premier Livre, was printed in 330 copies, of which 30 presentation copies — here no. XVI for Marc Poirson, signed by Pelletan.
A perfect copy, notwithstanding minute rubbing at the ends of the spine bands.
