Full imperial-green morocco, raised bands, author, title, date and place of publication in gilt, double gilt fillet to board edges, gilt edges, light green morocco doublure framed with a gilt fillet, slipcase (Mercier, successor to his father — 1935).
First trade edition, a large-paper copy on Holland paper.
One of 100 copies on Holland paper, after 50 on green Smaragdin paper and 30 on Japan paper.
This is Toulet's last novel, and probably his masterpiece.
A very fine copy, notwithstanding a slightly darkened spine.
