Full red morocco, triple gilt framing on covers, richly decorated spine with false nerves, boxes with double framing and gilt central and corner irons, gilt author, title and date, gilt fillet on edges, interior roulette (19th century binding).

 

First edition.

The author's first comedy to be performed at the Comédie Française, premiering on 3 July 1694.

A short-margined copy with a few stains.
