Full midnight blue morocco, covers with a double border of six gilt fillets surrounded by a single gilt fillet, raised bands, compartments with a double border of three gilt fillets, author, title and date in gilt, double gilt fillet to board edges, gilt edges, inner boards framed by ten gilt fillets, morocco-edged slipcase (Huser).
First edition, specially printed for Jules Claretie.
One of 25 copies printed on old Japanese paper or large vellum, in this case large vellum, reprinted in In-4 format. The volume contains 63 illustrations by Steinlen (1859–1923) as well as an original drawing by Steinlen.
