Red half morocco with corners, raised bands, author, title and date in gilt, top edge gilt (V. Champs).
First edition, a limited deluxe edition.
One of 150 copies on vat vellum paper, the only large-paper issue — this one no. 44.
The edition is illustrated with a colour frontispiece by Auguste Rodin (1840–1917).
A very fine copy.
