Robert Mallet (1915–2002) was a poet, academic, and radio personality. He received his first literary award, the Fabien Prize, in 1942 for Le Retour à la terre, along with a prize of 3,000 francs. He founded the Faculty of Letters at the University of Tananarive in Madagascar and served as its first dean.
