First edition.
A superb copy, with the press clipping announcing the death of Jules Renard - with his photograph - attached.
Association copy to Catulle Mendès, 9 February 1892.

Relatively uncommon, this was Jules Renard's first successful novel. In it, he humorously depicts the shortcomings of the bourgeoisie at the end of the 19th century.
