Graceful letter in which the architect of the Paris Opéra requests precise details concerning the delivery and measurements of a statue by the sculptor Francisque Duret.

Garnier apologises for his delayed reply, explaining how overwhelmed he is with work. He then asks his correspondent for two essential pieces of information:
when she expects to be able to deliver Duret’s statue, noting that if he cannot have it before 15 December at the latest, he will be forced to substitute another piece; and the exact dimensions of the statue, which he needs for his planning.
