Full morocco with a mosaic depicting a bird's blue wings on the covers, smooth spine, author and title in gilt, top edge gilt over witnesses, turn-ins inlaid with pieces of garnet morocco, gilt and blind fillets, burnt-sienna watered-silk doublure, slipcase (L'Atelier Moderne).

First edition, a large-paper copy.
One of 400 copies on Arches vellum paper, illustrated with 14 watercolours by Lepape, stencil-coloured by Saudé — comprising the cover, the frontispiece and 12 plates.

Spine very slightly lightened, otherwise a superb copy.
