MICHAUX, Henri. Meidosems.
Paris: Éditions du Point du Jour, 1948.
Quarto (254 x 196 mm). (1) f., 96 pp., (3) ff. Original wrappers and spine preserved.
Black box calf, covers decorated with an abstract fabric motif evoking ink and with strips of green wood, smooth spine lettered in palladium, top edge gilt, slipcase (J.P. Miguet).
First edition, a large-paper copy.
One of 250 copies on Johannot pure-rag paper, after one copy on China paper and 20 copies on Arches.
The copy is illustrated with 12 original double-page lithographs and a fully lithographed cover. This is the artist's first livre de peintre, in which Michaux also shows his first lithographs — the only ones made from the same stone.
Small tear to the spine, otherwise a superb copy, perfectly bound by Miguet.
