Charming edition illustrated with a double portrait of Madame de Sévigné and her daughter, the Countess of Grignan.

Published in the same year as the large in-12 edition, it uses the same text and includes 772 letters, 133 of which are published here for the first time.

Small wormholes in volume 2 not affecting the text and more pronounced from page 361 (restored), a few browned leaves. A fine copy.
