BACHMAN, Richard [KING, Stephen]. The Running Man.
New York: New American Library, 1982.
8vo (178 × 108 mm). (2) ff., 219 pp. Original paperback.
First edition, first printing.
A key title in the Bachman cycle, The Running Man is set in the year 2025, in a violently deteriorated world marked by economic collapse and state-controlled entertainment. Its dystopian vision remains strikingly contemporary and has gained renewed relevance. The novel was later adapted into the 1987 film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, although the film departs substantially from King's narrative.
Light rubbing; bookseller’s stamp on the front endpaper and inner cover. A solid example of a title increasingly sought after in true first printing.
