Tan morocco with a band, the band decorated with gilt lozenges in an Art Nouveau style, smooth spine, author, title and volume number in gilt with a gilt lozenge at head and tail, top edge gilt over witnesses, turn-ins decorated with a bold fillet and three gilt squares at the corners, slipcase (René Kieffer).
A unique copy, comprising 80 original watercolours and drawings by Émilien Dufour.
One of 225 copies on Rives laid paper, ours no. 149.
The drawings, all full-page, have been bound into the two volumes in groups of four. The first of each four is the finished drawing, in watercolour and gouache, signed; the other three are, for the most part, studies in black.
A fine, unique copy.
