Crime Fiction

The detective novel is found in the antiquarian book trade in the form of first editions, often serialized in periodicals before appearing in book form, of authors' correspondence, or of copies enriched with an inscription. Collectors look here for the freshness of a printing, the rarity of an illustrated wrapper or of a provenance, so many traces that connect the literary mystery to the very history of the genre.
