Russian literature

Russian literature is found in the antiquarian book trade in the form of first editions in the French language, translations sometimes preceded by scholarly prefaces, or correspondence of writers and translators who made these works known outside their country. The bibliophilic interest often lies in the rarity of the first translation, in the inscription or the provenance, in a field where the text travelled a long way before finding its French reader.
