Photography

In the antiquarian book trade, photography occupies a place at the crossroads of several disciplines: original prints (albumen, salt or gelatin silver prints), travel or family albums, works illustrated with photographic plates, correspondence of photographers or their patrons. The bibliophilic interest here lies as much in the process employed and its period as in the quality of the print, the provenance of the album, or the rarity of a complete series.

The collector will find a twofold perspective: a technical one, on the beginnings of an art that has continually reinvented itself since the nineteenth century, and a documentary one, on worlds, faces and places that no other medium has captured in the same way.
