Boards

The two rigid faces of a binding, boards or wooden boards covered with the covering material: the front board, or upper board, sometimes bears the title, a coat of arms or decoration; the back board closes the volume. Their inner face is the pastedown side. The boards receive the fillets, tools, lace-work borders and coats of arms.
