Semi-flexible boards in bottle-green calf with sharp edges at head and tail, bordered at the fore-edge with a band of brown calf; at the joints, a blackened wooden batten fixed by gunmetal eyelets, sewn on two red calf straps, edge-to-edge bottle-green calf doublure, red paper endpapers, chemise and slipcase (Jean de Gonet, 1983).
First edition of this study devoted to Anker Julius Kyster (1864–1939), the most eminent Danish binder of his time.
With a signed autograph inscription by the author: "To Frederick B. Adams / With friendship / from / the author / 22.11.1982".
A binding not recorded by F. Le Bars (Jean de Gonet, catalogue raisonné 1983–1993, Éditions Camilla), but very similar to no. 0334, p. 18.
