Adapted from Pagnol’s own film released the previous year, La Fille du puisatier features an iconic cast including Raimu, Fernandel and Josette Day. The novelisation, issued in wartime, preserves the emotional richness and Provençal atmosphere that made the film a popular success.

Spine slightly warped; otherwise a superb, clean and appealing copy, unusually fresh for this fragile edition.
