ALEAUME (Abbé). Les quatre parties du jour. Poëme en vers libres, imité de l’Allemand de M. Zacharie.
Paris: P. Alex. Le Prieur, 1773.

8vo (226 × 153 mm). (2) ff., 44 pp., (1) f. Full light-brown morocco, covers framed within double panels of triple gilt fillets with a scattered rose-tool pattern, spine gilt in compartments with raised bands, double gilt fillet to board edges, gilt edges, gilt turn-ins; binding by Gruel.

First edition.
The first French translation of Zachariae’s poem, rendered by the Abbé Aleaume. The work is divided into four cantos and illustrated with a frontispiece portrait, four full-page engraved plates, and four chapter vignettes, all engraved by Jean-Charles Baquoy (1721–1777) after designs by Eisen (1720–1778).

A very attractive copy, beautifully bound, with only a few pale spots of foxing, slightly more noticeable on the final leaf and final blank.
