First edition and presentation copy. The inscription is dated 4 October 1951 to Lucien Dumas: ‘A Lucien Dumas, L'homme qui reste foudroyé’.
The first part of his autobiographical trilogy, this is a fascinating fresco of Cendrars's life, which was continued in La Main coupée (1946) and Bourlinguer (1948).

Spine and boards sunned, small loss on upper headpiece.
