Binding by Chambolle-Duru.

The play was first performed on 23 January 1884 at the Comédie-Française in Paris. Aicard, already known for his Provençal poetry and novels, achieved with Smilis one of his most elegant dramatic texts, written in fluid, restrained prose characteristic of the French theatre of the early Third Republic.
A superb copy, finely bound and in excellent condition.
