First edition, with an author’s presentation inscription.
Houellebecq’s sixth novel, and one of his most widely discussed. The narrator, a specialist in J.-K. Huysmans, contemplates conversion to Islam following the electoral victory of a Muslim political party — a premise that sparked considerable public debate upon publication.

A fine, as-new copy.
