Lithograph

Among illustrated editions, lithography occupies a special place: born at the dawn of the 19th century, it allows the artist’s line to be transferred directly onto the stone, without the intermediary of the engraver. The bibliophilic interest thus lies in the quality of the printing, the freshness of the tones and, often, in the close collaboration between artist and printer.
