Italian literature

In the antiquarian book trade, Italian literature is found in the form of early editions of the great classics, of translations that introduced Dante, Petrarch or Ariosto to the French reader, and sometimes of correspondence or inscriptions that shed light on the reception of these works outside Italy. Its bibliophilic interest lies in the antiquity of the text, the quality of the translation, and the beauty—often itself Italian—of the printing or the binding.
